The long term potential in the Biofine technology rests with its potential to produce a variety of intermediate and advanced chemical products.  

 

   By implicitly 'fractionating' or 'cracking' the biomass into a variety of multipurpose streams, this process is analogous to the refineries that 'crack' crude oil into precursors to fuels and plastics and pesticides.  

 

   Each Biofine facility will be a true biorefinery, with each stream of the process representing a unique set of product opportunities.  

 

   The core product of this biorefinery is a platform chemical - an intermediate chemical product that serves as the building block to a myriad of other products.
